“In the Movie business, sometimes a hit… is not what you expected.”
LOGLINE
When two struggling actors accidentally cause the death of the Cartussi family’s most revered made
guy, “Jimmy The Snake,” they are mistaken for notorious hitmen from a rival family. To even the
score they are forced to complete Jimmy’s hit. But when the hit goes better than planned the boys
find themselves with an offer they can’t refuse; to persuade a big Hollywood producer to not make
a movie about the family for $100K. This time, however, things don’t go as planned when the
producer mistakes the “hitmen” for actors and casts them as leads in his new film. The opportunity
is a dream come true, but first the boys must outwit the Mafia, the FBI and the ruthless hitmen
they’ve been impersonating in order to live long enough to enjoy their newfound fame.
Plot Summary
Danny and Quinn are two struggling actors and best friends, who accidentally kill the Cartussi
family’s top hitman, “Jimmy The Snake.” The boys are mistaken for the Falucci brothers, two
ruthless hitmen from a rival family. The Cartussi godfather, Scootch, is furious and makes them
“an offer they can’t refuse.” In order to even the score he tells them they must complete Jimmy’s
intended hit on a snitch and then they’ll be free to go. The boys plead their innocence, but Scootch
won’t even listen to them. Instead, he brings in “Mickey The Blade” to torture Danny until Quinn
“confesses” that they are, in fact, the Falucci brothers and agree to do the hit.
The boys’ real intention, however, is to pretend to go along with the plan, but once inside the
snitch’s house they’ll explain the situation and call the police. But when they arrive, the nervous
snitch falls down a flight of stairs, breaks his neck and dies on impact. When Scootch hears about
this brutal “hit” he is only further convinced that they are the infamous Falucci brothers and he’s
very impressed. He offers them a job to go to Hollywood to persuade a movie producer not to make
a film about himself and his brother that would be very damaging. Danny wants out, but Quinn
admits that he owes money to a crazed, Russian bookie and begs his friend to go along with this one
last gig.
Danny reluctantly relents and he and Quinn head to Hollywood. In the meantime, the producer has
been attempting to cast the leads in his movie and hasn’t been happy with the talent he’s seen. He
asks his casting director to find fresh faces and to do it quickly because the studio is pressing him to
start production. That night Danny and Quinn show up at a party the producer is throwing. They
confront him in his office and threaten him not to make the film, but the producer assumes the
casting director has sent them there to audition. He’s extremely impressed and excited by their raw,
natural talent and casts them as the leads right there on the spot. The boys are immediately thrust
into the limelight much to Quinn’s delight and Danny’s horror.
The next morning they’re interviewed on an entertainment TV show and their faces appear on the
cover of every magazine. They become even more entrenched when Danny falls for the producer’s
daughter, Billie, who’s the female lead in the film. She has a thing for Mafia types and a romance
between the two ensues. Back in New York, Scootch learns of the boys’ treachery, as do the real
Falucci brothers, all of whom want Danny and Quinn dead.
Meanwhile two FBI agents, Sanchez and Smits, who’ve been tracking Scootch for years, hear that
he’s sent two hitmen to LA to kill the producer. They head to LA to try and catch the boys in the
act. The bookie sees Danny and Quinn on TV and also shows up in town to get the money Quinn
owes him. Now the boys are stuck between a rock and an impossibly hard place. They’ve been
given an opportunity of a lifetime, but first they must outwit Scootch, the Falucci brothers, the FBI
and the crazed Russian bookie in order to make it out alive and have their dreams come true.
